OCTOBER 2007 - NEWSLETTER 3

Hi Everybody,

Over the last couple of months of ministry I have found that I am being brought back time and time again to the 'Basics'. What I mean is that my heart is impressed or even compelled to preach and teach about Jesus, the Good News, what he did and what he wanted us to do.

The more I go back and study Acts the more I realise how the world was 'turned upside down' by the disciples. It was not really about the disciples and who they were it as it was about 'what' they had become. In 1 Corinthians verse 17 it says "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have past away, behold all things have become new."

The word 'new' used there is the word 'kainos' in creek which means new, unused, fresh. The word is in regard to form or quality rather than in reference to time.

I have come across a lot of preaching recently that is trying to get us to follow mans ways or methods to heal ourselves. I have started to wonder why we are so easily strayed away from Gods supernatural ways. Do we now not believe that God is able? Yet we see the New Age and occult performing supernatural feats all the time. Have we lost our faith in God who is greater, or our faith in Jesus who has conquered all of hell and earth and now sits at the right hand of God?

Christ's death and resurrection for us, and our identification with Him by faith make an existence as a new creation possible. Possible for those that believe. His death and resurrection are probably the most important differences from other religions of the world.

So we must now start to rise up and believe what he did for us. We must take the time to study the power behind the His death, (The blood), and His resurrection, (the Power) and then learn how to appropriate that into our lives so we can then be true disciples to the world. True witnesses of Him to the world.

Therefore let's KNOW and PROCLAIM that by faith in Christ, we are a new creation.

God Bless you

Alan & Annie
